'Call The Midwife' Christmas Special Chatter
On Saturday, Mirror posted an interview with some of the cast members when We Love TV stopped by the set to speak with everyone. Jenny Agutter (Sister Julienne) mentioned that some controversial moments are about to take place now that the characters are entering a new generation.
"There's a definite change of gear as the show moves head-on into the 1960s," the actress said. "There are all the issues which arose out of that era- prostitution, homosexuality, mental health and child neglect, to name a few. The neglect storyline is terribly upsetting."

Helen George (Trixie) dished on her character's relationship with Tom, giving some insight on how that might end up.
"Young teenage girls are always stopping me in the street to ask, 'Are you going to marry the vicar?' He's known as the 'hot prison vicar' on set!" George said. "It's about time Trixie had a man and it's interesting to see her grow up and assess what she wants our of a relationship and her life."
Charlotte Ritchie (Barbara) then opened up on what her character will bring to the show as the new girl.
"She is sincere, emotional and wears her heart on her sleeve," Ritchie shared. "Barbara is very passionate about midwifery, has no ego and really cares about people."
Call the Midwife Season 4 is expected to premiere in the United States this spring on PBS.
