Klaus will spend some time trying to bond with his estranged brother Kol on The Originals this week.
Powerful Witch Is Murdering Teens On 'The Originals' This Season
The CW released a new clip (featured below) on Jan. 12 which shows that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will be joining forces with his less reliable brother, attempting to form an alliance through gestures of good will.
During the midseason finale Kol (Daniel Sharman) betrayed Rebekah (Claire Holt) by placing her in the body of an imprisoned witch (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and now Klaus is struggling to find her.
Esther's Fate Decided On 'The Originals'
Unaware of how Kol betrayed Rebekah, Klaus comes to his brother in this new clip with a gift "in honor" of his "return to the fold." The two even crack a few smiles, which is rare given their history of jealousy and betrayal. It is uncertainly though whether or not Klaus really wants to connect with his brother, or is looking to gain his trust in order to turn on him. If Klaus has secretly discovered what Kol did to Rebekah, he will certainly want revenge. Kolb is also working with Davina (Danielle Campbell), who has sworn to destroy Klaus at any cost.
Genuine or not, it is unlikely that this alliance will survive. Klaus is working hard to find Rebekah and while he is being civil with his brother for the time being, the pair are hardly trusting towards one another.
The Originals returns on The CW with the remainder of its second season, Monday Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
