Andre (Omari Hardwick) might have gone back to his wife on the season finale on BET's Being Mary Jane, and David seemed to be happy with his new girlfriend, leaving Mary Jane alone. But now actor Stephen Bishop (who portrays David) made it clear he is not letting Hardwick swoop in and take his woman in real life.

Omari Hardwick & Wife Expecting Second Child 'Beyond Excited'

Bishop spoke with C Nikky in an interview released Dec. 30 as the cast prepares for season 2. He confessed that he hopes David and Mary Jane get back together.

"I'm pulling for him. I'm hoping they write that...That they end up together. Last year I was watching it just like the fans. I'm looking forward to see what happens this year. Omari, that's my man. I'll defer to Omari on that. He's the guy," he said before making it clear Hardwick would not be able to take his woman if it was a real life scenario. "Well not in real life I wouldn't let him have her."

As far as David's girlfriend getting pregnant, Bishop said it was something he couldn't really avoid.

"Things happen. You know, sometimes things happen that aren't planned. When you let somebody go, you gotta be willing and able to deal with the repercussions of such things."

He added that while Mary Jane wanted to have his child, she was too prideful to simply say that is what she desired.

"Did you watch the last episode? Ok, all she had to do was ask. David and Mary Jane have been in love for a long time. There's nothing fake about what he's doing. There's no games being played either. They just keep missing each other. They're star crossed lovers the timing hasn't been right. That's why they keep going back."
