Ray is back on NCIS: Los Angeles, which means Deeks' Max Gentry can't be far behind.

Deeks' (Eric Christian Olsen) childhood pal will reenter the picture in "Expiration Date," undoubtedly causing the LAPD detective to resume one of his old aliases. Ray (Channon Roe) was first introduced in season 2's "Plan B" and is well known for being the one who gave 11-year-old Deeks a gun to protect himself with.

Aware of Ray's return before season 6 began, Olsen gave a little insight as to what fans can expect when Deeks unleashes his dark side as Max Gentry.

"Max is an interesting and dark place for Deeks to go, and I think that - like all [aliases] - is a version of himself that he decided not to be," Olsen told TV Guide. "It's a little too real and taps a little bit too deeply and honestly into his own childhood."

"Expiration Date" will airs as episode 16.
