Hasty Pudding 2015 Woman Of The Year Award: Amy Poehler Honored By Country's Oldest Acting Society [VIDEO]
Amy Poehler has been announced as this year's recipient of the Hasty Pudding 2015 Woman of the Year Award.

On Jan. 6 Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals named the Golden Globe winning actress as their Woman of the Year. As the honoree, Poehler will attend the award ceremony later this month, during which she will lead a parade through Cambridge. The parade will be followed by a comedy roast and the bestowing of the award at Farkas Hall in Harvard Square.

"She is an accomplished performer, incredible comedian, and an inspiration…We look forward to welcoming Ms. Poehler and celebrating and honoring her achievements in a truly unique and memorable way."

The Hasty Pudding Theatricals is the third oldest theatre group in the world and the oldest featured in the United States. Established in 1951, the Woman of the Year Award is the performing troupe's oldest award. Previous winners include Katharine Hepburn, Meryl Streep, Elizabeth Taylor, and Helen Mirren.
This honor comes to Poehler after an incredible year. In 2014 actress released her best-selling autobiographical book Yes Please. On Jan. 11 she helmed the Golden Globe Awards with friend and collegue Tina Fey. Poehler is currently starring as Pawnee's Leslie Knope for the final season of NBC's Parks and Recreation.
The 2015 Woman of the Year ceremony will take place on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 2:45 p.m.
