According to the Daily Mail on Wednesday, Moss posed alongside her costars at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York to promote the play, which begins next month.

Moss was drawn to the show's title role the same way she was drawn to AMC's Mad Men, taking on complex and "modern" women.

"I'm very interested in playing her as a modern woman," explained Moss, "which is something that I've always tried to do with Peggy on Mad Men. I know the time period reflects and is an influence on who she is, but at the same time I think she's just like us, and has the same issues and the same problems and the same questions."

The play takes place in the 1960s, a time which Moss is also pretty familiar with thanks to her Mad Men days, and follows a woman's journey through 20 years of self-discovery. Mad Men fans will likely delight in the opportunity to see Moss take on such a major role live.

The Heidi Chronicles, written by Wendy Wasserstein, will begin at the Music Box Theatre on Feb. 23.

Mad Men returns on AMC for the remainder of its seventh and final season on Sunday, April 5.
