MTV VMA 2012 Live Stream: Watch Online Video Music Awards 2012 Performances by Rihanna, Nicki Minaj (Nominees List)
The MTV VMA 2012 show is set to go live on Thursday evening with an exciting line up of performers and nominees. The MTV Video Music Awards 2012 can be watched from 7 p.m. ET on MTV, or alternatively fans can watch online through live stream (details below).

The music extravaganza will come live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and MTV has boasted they have gone to extreme extents to ensure this will be a show to remember.

There will be at least 18 cameras used to capture every essence of the show on Thursday night. Also Calvin Harris will make his MTV VMA debut as a DJ by performing on a 6,000-pound twisted geometric satellite stage, weighing around 3 tons.
Another massive feature at the event will be the "Hydroscope Techno Crane" camera which weighs 15,000 pounds.
MTV has reported that it will use 13,000 square feet worth of hi and lo-res video screens which will be behind, above, and around performers or presenters on stage.
Rihanna and Drake lead the way with nominations. Both of those artists have been given five nominations and will be favorites to scoop the most awards.
However, Katy Perry and Beyonce may also have something to say about that accolade come the end of the night, as they have both also been nominated for four awards each.
The night will be an exciting one and will feature a host of the top musical talent in the world. Performing during the show will be Rihanna, Green Day, Alicia Keys and Lil Wayne. Others also set to perform on stage will be Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, One Direction and Taylor Swift.
Up for the award for the top prize "Video of the Year 2012" are Drake (Take Care), Gotye (Somebody That I Used to Know), MIA (Bad Girls), Katy Perry (Wide Awake), and Rihanna (We Found Love).
Justin Bieber and Chris Brown will be the favorites to take the crown for "Best Male Video," where as Rihanna, Beyonce and Katy Perry will be fighting it out for the "Best Female Video" award.
The MTV VMAs will begin at 8 p.m. ET with the pre-show beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Fans can watch online through live stream by clicking here.
