MTV VMA 2012 Live Stream: Performances to Remember by Top Singers, Watch Online 8PM ET
The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards will be taking place at the Los Angeles' Staples Center on Thursday at 8pm Eastern Standard Time. The musical festivities will include several musical performances by many of the biggest names in music today which include Carly Rae Jepsen, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, amongst others.

The show will literally be a lyrical promotion, as it will be composed of 120 minutes of some of the finest performances over the last year.
Singing sensation Demi Lovato will be on hand to kick off the pre-show by performing her hit "Give Your Heart A Break".
VMA mainstay Taylor Swift will also be one of the several singing stars to hit the stage to sing a new song from her upcoming album titled "Red."
On Sept. 2, Swift had spoken about some of the pre-stage butterflies that a performer can potential face, according to MTV.
"The thing about the VMAs is, the people that help put together the performances are honestly some of the best people you have ever worked with and they put together these huge, vast, massively entertaining performances. You have to make sure that you are ready to go onstage and face the entire world of music fans that are watching that show," she said.
