The next season of Call the Midwife is going to deal with some life-changing experiences especially for Trixie now that she's engaged.

'Call The Midwife' Season 4 Will Have A 'Terribly Upsetting' Storyline

On Sunday, Radio Times posted an interview with Helen George (Trixie) who dished on her character's engagement with Tom. For the most part, they seem excited about it as Trixie works hard on their wedding day.

"She's definitely slightly turned into a Bridezilla, but I think hopefully she's looking forward to her future with Tom and then we'll see what happens," George said.

A wedding isn't the only thing that Trixie is going to be focusing on in upcoming episodes.

"It's a really interesting year for her," the actress said. "It's a sort of coming of age series for her. Her friends are moving on and looking at various different careers. Jenny's left and Cynthia's chosen the religious life so Trixie is feeling a little bit left behind."

George also said that audiences are going to find out the details of Nonnatus' midwife who seems to have an intriguing story.

"We see what's behind the smile a lot more this year," George said. "We look at her past, her childhood and how that's affected her life now as an adult and why she chose to be a midwife and a nurse in the first place. And the affect that her relationship with her father had on that."

Call the Midwife Season 4 is expected to air in the United States this spring on PBS.
