Jennifer Aniston almost missed out on the opportunity of a lifetime when one of her "friends" almost replaced her on the sitcom that made her a household name. The Hollywood actress says that one of her close pals almost took her role as Rachel Green on the hit NBC long-running show Friends.

According to In Touch Weekly on Monday, Aniston made the revelation during an interview at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Friday night. Apparently, she was almost fired by NBC for her other projects she was committed to at the time, including a show called Muddling Through.
She said, "So there was a period where I had to stand out of the photographs for the group shots, and I had phone calls from girlfriends saying, 'I'm auditioning for your part in Friends. They [execs] just took the chance that 'Muddling Through' would fail after the two episodes they picked it up for."

What's more, Aniston said that her good pal Courteney Cox almost played Rachel as well.
"They wanted Courteney to play Rachel," Aniston added. "But it all worked out in the end. And unbeknownst to each other, I wanted to play Rachel and she wanted to play Monica. It worked out perfectly."
Meanwhile, when it comes to her ex-husband and his new wife, Aniston wants to assure everyone that there is absolutely no truth when it comes to all of those supposed "love triangle" rumors about them. The Hollywood actress has called all the gossip fodder about her, Pitt and Jolie "a made-up story line."
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter last week, Aniston made a plea to all of the gossip blogs and media outlets to stop dragging on rumors about the trio, which have gone on for almost a decade now.
She said, "You know... it's a made-up triangle. It's a made-up dramatic story line. It's now to the point where all of us - because everybody is happy... everyone's moved on - it feels very silly at a certain point to keep harping on it."
