The episode was called Cash Game and featured three new faces: Choo-Choo, Seabass and Avery Markham.
'Justified' Star Timothy Olyphant Talks Series Ending
Duke Davis Roberts is a MMA fighter who portrays Choo-Choo.
"We came up with the idea of just a really big guy who'd been damaged in the war. Then we got him, and it was just one of those things of reports coming back from the set," Yost said, adding, "and you watch dailies, and look at a cut scene and go, 'Oh, he's great. He's really doing something really interesting.'"
Seabass is played by Scott Grimes who Yost revealed to be "really funny".
Seabass has a history with Choo-Choo, which led to Yost sharing, "Seabass is the smart one and Choo-Choo's the less smart one."
"He knows how to carry a weapon and walk the walk," Yost said of Grimes, noting, "It's very believable."
Lastly, Sam Elliott portrays Avery Markham and Yost divulged they tired getting him on the show previously.
"It's funny, just trying to peel back the history. We're pretty sure we went after him a few times but he just wasn't available," he said.
"Then, I think, we found out that he liked the show, and so it was a Hail Mary-final season-let's see if we can get him. We had to talk through the part with him and tell him where we were going with it and what we wanted, and he was intrigued," Yost stated.
Yost mentioned Elliott's character is revealed to be "the Big Bad" for this final season in the Tuesday, Feb. 3 episode called Noblesse Oblige.
Justified is airing now on FX at 10 p.m. ET on Tuesdays.
