Rush Limbaugh and 2012 DNC Disaster: Host Slams the President For His 'Halfhearted' Speech
Rush Limbaugh called President Barack Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention a "halfhearted effort," and that was merely the nicest thing that he said to his radio listeners about the country's current leader.
The radio host treated listeners to his negative view on Obama's Thursday night acceptance speech, saying, "I'm just sitting here in stunned disbelief."
First off, he called out the president by claiming that he made a "phony attempt at humility."
Limbaugh played a sound bite of Obama's speech where he said "The election four years ago wasn't about me. It was about you. You were the change. If you turn away now...well change will not happen."
Limbaugh was stunned by this comment and said to his listeners the following:
"In 2008 [Obama] was The One!.. The One were waiting for! You could make Barack Obama anything you wanted him to be. Four years later, it's on you. Four years later, this debacle is all on you. 'That election wasn't about me.' This is a phony attempt at humility, number one. Number two, he's trying to ladle this audience with guilt."
He continued on to, in some way, ridicule Obama for turning the presidency and the responsibility on the public instead of on the country's leader.
"I think Obama is saying, 'The onus for getting me back in the White House is on you. It's your responsibility. I did the stimulus for you. I did Obamacare for you. I did everything for you, and now it's up to you,' " Limbaugh said.
He also claimed that the convention was an attempt to mask and make people forget about the promises made four years ago, some of which were never fulfilled. To "forget the idea that all things were possible...that everything bad could be made good."
"It's total magalomaniacal. That's what he is," he added. "What's going to be different if Obama has another four years? It's gonna be more misery, more debacle, more disaster, more crumbling."
