The UK is one of over 35 countries set to screen Avengers 2 ahead of the American May 1 release date, but our friends across the pond received word on Tuesday that the Joss Whedon film will drop even earlier than expected.

Originally planned for an April 24 debut, the highly anticipated superhero endeavor will now enter cinemas a full day earlier.

"The UK & IRE release of Marvel's #AvengersAgeOfUltron moves forward to Thursday April 23rd," Marvel UK tweeted on Tuesday.

It is no surprise that the UK and Ireland will get to meet Ultron early, especially considering the bulk of the film was shoot at Shepperton Studios in Surry. Italy and South Korea also served as filming locations and will premiere Avengers 2 in April as well.

Unfortunately for viewers who have to wait until May (and Japan, which won't receive the film until July 4), the rest of the world has plenty of time to spoil major plot points before fans head to theaters. As per usual, Marvel is keeping plenty of secrets about the project, and it would be a pity if that effort were for naught.
