'Longmire' Season 4 Spoilers: Netflix Bringing In Big Guest Stars For Crime Drama? [VIDEO]
Longmire's Netflix pickup could lead to some big guest stars this season.
'Longmire Days' Event Could Face Overcrowding In 2015
A new network means inevitable changes, but its possible that the wider viewership Longmire will receive on Netflix could lead for more opportunities as well.
While the cast of the former A&E crime drama have often appeared as guests on other shows like The CW's The Vampire Diaries and NBC's Chicago PD, the series itself doesn't get too many outsiders. This could change with the show's fourth season, which is set to begin production in March.

The series is already set to have longer episodes with no commercial breaks, and the new deal with Netflix also offers up opportunities for swearing and additional violence. Whether or not showrunners decide to run with this freedom, however, remains undecided.
"The show had a very loyal, strong base," explained Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos to Hitfix in January. "But at the time it was airing or the audience they were trying to reach or the product they were trying to sell against it, it just didn't work for the network. But it'll work great on Netflix."
A&E gave Longmire the axe in 2014 following the end of its third season. The series lingered in limbo for months before Netflix came in and saved the show from permanent cancellation in November.
Longmire will likely return for a fourth season on Netflix during the later half of 2015.
