Fans of 90s teen comedy Saved by the Bell may have been secretly hoping for the cast to eventually reunite, and while a new show isn't in the works, some of the cast did give their fans the next best thing by getting together and performing a skit on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

Mark-Paul Gossleaar, Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkeley-Loren, Tiffany Thiessen and Dennis Haskins all came back together on the comedian's late-night show, reprising their characters as Zack Morris, A.C. Slater, Jessie Spano, Kelly Kapowski and Principal Belding, in a re-imagined Bayside High where they were friends with Fallon. Not a part of the reunion were Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle)-who has since denied claims she is bipolar, and Dustin Diamond (Screech Powers)-who is currently facing legal troubles after a Christmas Day bar fight and stabbing.

In the skit, the cast reunites to say good bye to their friend Jimmy as he goes to New York to become a comedian with his own talk show, and manages to make fun of not only events in all the actors' lives since the show ended, but also brings back some of the most famous moments from the original show's history.

Some of the throwbacks to the original series included Gosselear and Fallon quoting the lines to the opening theme song, Lopez stripping down a ballet uniform and dancing to Swan Lake, the appearance of Zack's massive cell phone, Berkeley-Loren's 'I'm so Excited' singing, a Zack Morris freeze-frame time-out, and references to his and Kelly's series finale wedding in Vegas. The final shout-out to the initial series featured a song from the gang's brief stint as a famous band, Zack Attack.

However, things the cast has done since the show were far from off limits. Theissen's currently being pregnant with her second child was worked into the skit's storyline as a Zack/Kelly baby, which allowed for a joke about her immediately appearing on Beverly Hills 90210 after Saved by the Bell ended. Berkeley's post SBTB movie Showgirls, where she played a stripper, was also referenced, as was Lopez's appearance on ABC's Dancing with the Stars. And though Fallon wasn't a part of the show's original cast, his recently finding out he had once been on a date with Nicole Kidman (and didn't know it), was also worked into the skit.

This isn't the first time Fallon has managed to get a partial cast reunion for a 90s show worked out on a Late Night program either. Back in 2014, before he took over hosting duties from Jay Leno, he said goodbye to his previous gig on Late Night by reuniting Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone) and John Stamos (Jesse Katsopolis) in a Full House themed skit as well.
