Michael Clifford, Ashton Irwin, Calum Hood and Luke Hemmings had time off and went back home to Australia, but now they're back in the United States to write and record for their next album.
The guys are in Los Angeles and instantly began writing and recording.

On Tuesday, Clifford and Hemmings revealed they were stoked to be writing again.
"Back in writing yaaaaay," Clifford revealed, while Hemmings tweeted, "Writing tunes for all the peoplez".
On Wednesday, 5SOS shared the day was "very productive" since they were "writing and recording," which they "absolutely" love.
They teased the new songs "are soundin KILLER".
Being in the studio to write and record isn't all work though with these guys.
Clifford shared a video on Instagram of "Drill guitars with @johnfeldy".
Plus, he got his shred on. This went on until 2 a.m.!
Clifford also took up the banjo during this studio session.
Then, Hemmings and Hood worked closely with All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth, in which the ATL band member revealed the "studio quote of the day".
The quote is: "Watching porn on pay-per-view is like buying vinyl."
It's not known who actually said the interesting simile, but maybe it was the inspiration for whatever song they were working on. Only time will tell if that quote works its way into the lyrics of a song.
