‘Days of Our Lives’ Cast News: Is Allison Sweeney Headed Back To Salem As Sami Brady? [PHOTO]
Fans were sad to see her iconic character leave Salem behind last fall following the death of her husband, but Sami Brady could soon be heading back to town on Days of Our Lives.
Making the news even better, the Sami who comes back could be none other than Allison Sweeney-the same actress who left the role after 21 years in 2014.
According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, there is a chance that Sweeney could soon consider coming back for some episodes on the NBC soap, because she is currently looking at and booking offers for work on other TV shows and in some movies-meaning if a Days script was sent her way, she could potentially consider reappearing for a brief episode arc.
Sweeney is not officially confirmed to be making a return to the soap just yet.
The actress announced in early 2014 that she was going to retire from the soap after more than two decades playing Samantha Brady, and shot her last episodes back in May. Her final appearance was in October.
Sami's storyline for much of 2014 revolved around planning her wedding to EJ (James Scott), but as soon as she said her 'I do's' she revealed she was aware he had been cheating on her with Abigail (Kate Mansi), and proceeded to unleash a massive revenge plot against them both. She soon thawed around EJ however, and the two eventually managed to reconcile their relationship and marriage. However, EJ was then shot in the park during an apparent mugging (he was actually shot by one of Clyde's [James Read] thugs), and died.
Following his death, Sami headed off to Hollywood with her kids to make a movie about her life.
Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
