Amal Clooney is not someone who is willing to jump in the spotlight, even though her husband George Clooney is one of the biggest Hollywood stars of his generation. And that's probably why the actor decided to throw a low-key dinner for her birthday recently.

According to People Magazine, George's good friend and Cindy Crawford's husband Rande Gerber told reporters about the small soiree.

He said, "We just had a dinner with a small group of close friends at George's house. George is always going special things for her."

Rande didn't dish on any more details about the birthday party, but that's probably because Amal wants to keep her personal life as private as possible.

According to the Belfast Telegraph last Monday, sources close to Amal say that she is not used to having the spotlight on her and is having a hard time accepting all the tabloid fodder that is made up about her marriage.

An insider told the site, "This is meant to be a really exciting time for her and George - of course they're adjusting to married life and finding their feet a bit, but it feels like everybody is waiting for them to slip up - and, apparently, split up, too!"

The source added, "George is laidback and he feels at home on the red carpet. But for Amal, I think it must be a bit of a shock. Sure, she's done it a few times now, but I know she stills gets nervous. The problem is that when you're worried, it's hard to smile and look happy all the time."
