For the most part, the commercials gave viewers a few minutes to grab a quick bite to eat or to Tweet about their favorite performances, but things changed when the Scientology advertisement came on the screen.

"We live in an age of searching: to find solutions, to find ourselves, to find the truth," the voiceover says during the ad. "Now imagine an age in which the predictability of science and the wisdom of religion combined. Welcome to the age of answers."

This isn't the first time the Church of Scientology has aired a commercial; in fact, they also aired an ad during the Super Bowl 2015. According to the Hollywood Reporter, some believe that this ad was created to discredit the documentary Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, which aired at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

The site reported that the new film is about Hollywood's connection to religion, spirituality and faith.

Fans on Twitter are reacting to all of the commercials show during the music award show, and so far, many fans find it very coincidental that it aired shortly before Beck received the award for Album on The Year.
