'Constantine' NBC: Season 2 Possible On Syfy? Extra Episode Title Revealed Ahead Of Finale [VIDEO]
Constantine may survive its rating slump by moving to Syfy.
'Constantine' NBC: Finale Plot Revealed, What Characters Will Return In 'Waiting For The Man'?
The NBC series failed to receive a 22-episode order for it's freshman season, and while that doesn't necessarily mean it will be axed following it's 13-episode run, the DC adaptation is keeping it's option open.
One of these options, according to Cinelinx, involves rebranding Constantine as Hellblazer and pushing it to Syfy, NBC's cable offshoot.
This latest piece of speculation comes just days before Constantine's season finale. Set to air on Feb. 13, "Waiting for the Man" will not provide a definite conclusion John, Chaz, and Zed's adventures. Writers have already penned several episodes beyond the closer, including episode 14. Titled "Devil Doc," according to Spoiler TV, the extra scripts will be used to open a potential season 2.
"It's not dead, at all - it's solidly in contention for a second season on NBC, which is still supporting it," executive producer David S. Goyer said, according to We Got This Covered. "Constantine got caught in the midst of a change that is happening at the networks. It gets big numbers on DVR and online views, but it is sort of a tweener that doesn't fit the traditional viewing box at the big networks. It's not State Of Affairs, it's just not that kind of show, but NBC likes it."
