The introduction of an alleged psychic won't make it any easier for The Mentalist to mourn the loss of Agent Vega.

"Byzantium" will saddle Abbot's team with another (almost definitely fake) psychic in the wake of Patrick Jane's momentary departure. Gabriel Osbourne (Alex Saxon) will bring his sixth sense to the FBI's attention while the agents are still reeling from Vega's untimely death, making the team's emotions will be putty in Osbourne's hands.

No one will experience this more than Jason Wylie.

"You're crying is loud. I hear you crying inside," Gabriel tells the grief-stricken Wylie in a sneak peek (see video below). "I'm so sorry."

Later, Wylie will inform the skeptical Lisbon that Gabriel used Vega's passing to gain his trust, according to Entertainment Weekly, telling him his almost-girlfriend is doing just fine in the afterlife.

Will Wylie's anguish throw up blinders against Gabriel's possible guilt? Executive producer Tom Szentgyorgyi believes the young tech-genius will take the murder the hardest.

"Wylie's certainly one of the people feeling it most keenly, and who's freshest to this experience," Szentgyorgyi told TV Line.
