Vikings' Bjorn is growing up quickly, so quickly in fact, that he is ready to jump into family life.

Ragnar's (Travis Fimmel) son will fight side by side with Porunn (Gaia Weiss) in the season 3 premiere, and while the former's slave's formidable skills will impress the young warrior, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) will also be looking for a way to keep his love safe.

"I only do this because I care about you," Bjorn says as he implores Porunn to take fewer risks in battle (see video below).

"Or because I'm a woman?" Porunn rebukes, causing Bjorn to shake his head and walk away, only to turn back moments later with a very serious proposal.

"Marry me," Bjorn implores, much to Porunn's surprise.

Unfortunately, viewers will have to wait until "Mercenary" airs in order to find out what the startled shieldmaiden replies. Strong willed and unwilling to fall under the control of a man, Weiss' character may not be incredibly psyched by the idea of marriage.

Nevertheless, the sneak peek shows that Bjorn has come a long way from his season 1 childhood.

"It's definitely been a coming-of-age story," Lugwig explained to Zap2It. "Historically, this character goes on to do some pretty incredible things, so I think we're setting up him coming into his own and becoming a man."
