Older couples are often never considered likely frontrunners on The Amazing Race, and that very idea is one that new cast members Jeff Magee and Lyda Grawn are counting on during their stint on season 26.

Jenny Hopes Jeilani Will Be 'Intelligent' and 'Capable'

The couple, who have been dating for 4 ½ years (but have known each other for over 20), definitely plan to let their age (Grawn is 49 and Magee is 57) be something people think about when it comes to their ability to run the race-because if they are underestimated they have a better shot at winning the $1 million.

"I think what we bring to the table is experience," Grawn says in a pre-race interview with CBS. "We're not the youngest ones here obviously, so I think we might be a little bit underestimated because we are the oldest ones, but I think that provides us with a little edge. We have a little bit more experience and wisdom."

Aly and Steve Have A 'Huge Advantage'

In addition, the two do plan to stay on the good side of the other teams-but aren't afraid to use tactics that will make them less popular if needed.

"We think we'll probably kind of try to lay low a little bit, and maybe try to have the younger teams underestimate us and then like, when we have to, slam them with a U-turn," Magee says. "We want to be strategic, friendly, but if we need to, do what we have to do. "If we're doing this we might as well win."

The Amazing Race season 26 premieres Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 9:30 p.m. on CBS.
