On Sept. 14, a French magazine printed photos of what they claim are shots of Prince William's wife, Kate Middleton, sunbathing topless at a private house in France, according to BusinessWeek.com.

The images - an addition to the already scandalous photos of Prince Harry that surfaced last month - has spiked outrage from the royal family and officials are stating that legal action against the publication is being considered.

The family considered publishing of the photos to be "a grotesque and totally unjustifiable" invasion of privacy, according to the site. MIddleton was shot topless on the terrace of a home owned by the Queen's nephew Lord Linley.

The pictures in the magazine Closer are blurry and taken from a distance, however, royal officials said they appear genuine. Representatives of the royal couple are said to be talking to lawyers.

The Huffington Post reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reacted to the incident with "anger and disbelief," adding, "a red line has been crossed."

"Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them," a St. James's Palace official said. "The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to the Duke and Duchess for being so."

Princess Diana died in France, while trying to escape paparazzi.

British magazines printed the scandalous nude photos of Prince Harry and his wild night in Las Vegas. No publication had run the topless photos of Middleton. But on Friday morning TMZ posted them on its website.

There is a British magazine with the same name as its counterpart in France. They have since come out to clarify that they do not intent to print the Middleton photos.

"Closer magazine UK would like to make it clear that the two publications make entirely independent editorial decisions," they stated. "Closer magazine UK was not offered any pictures of this nature and certainly has no intention of publishing the photographs of the Duchess of Cambridge which have been published in France this
morning."
