The Bay-Emmett storyline is going to continue with more complications following Bay's sexual assault on Switched at Birth.

'Switched At Birth' Christmas Episode Chatter

On Tuesday, Zap 2 It posted an interview with series creator Lizzy Weiss who mentioned that Emmett is going to have a lot of questions in his mind. After Bay and Tank had sex while Bay was really drunk, it's going to make it difficult for Emmett to understand what really happened especially since he and Bay had a fight.

"The next episode really delves into Emmett trying to understand. For him it's nebulous. Tank is an ex-boyfriend. They had a huge fight the day before," Weiss said. "What was she doing drinking with an ex-boyfriend? How did she end up in a dark room alone with him? There are questions he cannot wrap his head around. That's really important."

'Switched At Birth' Winter Premiere Chatter

With Bay living in a completely different place from Emmett while she finishes her punishment for taking the fall for Daphne, things are already difficult for them. But now that Emmett is moving forward with his life, it leaves the question on if he can still be the same person he was when things were better with Bay.

"Bay is a little bit stuck in a rut. She's on house arrest. She doesn't have a job. She doesn't have classes," the creator said. "What could realistically happen in a relationship where one person is growing and one person is not? There's jealousy issues and not just girl/guy [cheating] but 'you're living without me.'"

Switched at Birth airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
