The 2015 Longmire Days event could be the ideal opportunity to offer a sneak peak at the show's fourth season.

Have The Writers Finished Season 4 Of 'Longmire'?

In January Sheridan Media announced that the annual Longmire Days event, a fan festival in Buffalo, NY, will be taking place from July 17-20 this year.

Depending on when Netflix chooses to air the crime drama's fourth season, this could be a prime opportunity for the network to share that first episode in front of a major crowd.

A&E Replacing 'Longmire' With A New Crime Drama?

Production for the new season is set to begin in March, which would give them time to shoot and edit the premiere prior to the fan event this summer.

Longmire Days is held every year in Buffalo, the town which inspired the setting of Craig Johnson's Longmire novel series. The event will include street dancing, a softball tournament and even an autographing session with stars Robert Taylor (Walt Longmire), Adam Bartley (The Ferg), and Louanne Stevens (Ruby).

Debuting the new installment at the event would be good for promotion, particularly since it will be the show's first season on Netflix. The series spent three years on A&E before being dropped by the network in 2014. Cancellation sparked outrage amongst fans, who quickly flocked to revive the program through online support and petitions. Netflix picked the show up in November.

Longmire will likely return formally for a fourth season on Netflix during the later half of 2015.
