Apparently even the stars of AMC's Mad Men had to pay if they wanted to take souvenirs home from the set.

AMC Makes 'Mad Men' An Interactive Experience In 2015

Actress Christina Hendricks, who has played Joan Harris for nearly a decade on the ad agency drama, admits there were a few things she wanted to take with her when production wrapped for the show's final season last year.

After joking with In Style on Wednesday that she had "stolen" a ton of props, Hendricks got serious and revealed exactly how the exchange had gone down. It turns out getting what she wanted was a surprisingly formal endeavor. "I asked..." she admitted. "And they charged me for it."

So what did the star take with her? Some of those fabulous clothes?

"There was a piece of art from Joan's apartment that I really, really wanted," said Hendricks. "And a little serving tray I always wanted, and I got a couple pieces of costumes."

The actress insisted that the things she had ultimately purchased possessed sentimental value. "I wanted those things because they had always been in Joan's apartment and they will always remind me," she noted. "To me, it's like my home away from home."

Mad Men will return on AMC for the remainder of its seventh and final season on Sunday, April 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
