It seems the royal family continues to be plagued by paparazzi catching them in the nude. The latest pictures reveal the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, without her top.

On Friday, the French gossip magazine "Closer" published what appears to be the Duchess sunbathing topless. The pictures were taken of Middleton and her husband Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, while they were relaxing on a terrace at a private house in southern France where the couple vacationed last month.

Officials for the royal family have condemned the release of the photos saying that it's "grotesque and totally unjustifiable." So far no legal action has been taken but the officials have stated that it is being considered with lawyers being consulted. No attempt has been made to deny the identities within the pictures as officials say they appear genuine.

The reaction by the family has been understandably justifiable and they've drawn a connection toward the death of Princess Diana, Prince William's mother, who died while attempting to flee the paparazzi in 1997.

"Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them," officials in London stated. They added that they "feel a line has been crossed with their publication."

So far no major British publisher has posted the photos, unlike "The Sun" which posted pictures of Prince Harry partying naked in Las Vegas.

Neil Wallis, former executive editor for "News of the World", gave his opinion to the release of the Duchess's photos to BBC stating: "They won't get published in this country, and if I was still an editor I would not be publishing them." And that, "there's absolutely no chance whatsoever that they will be published in this country."

The infamous photos were published while the Duke and Duchess were on a nine day tour of Asia. Other photos this week appeared of Middleton at a state dinner in Singapore where she reportedly was drinking water instead of alcohol for toasting and had what tabloid's claimed was a "baby bump".
