In the survey conducted by Variety, the movie hit 11, 369 in ratings and was followed by Magic Mike XXL and Fifty Shades of Grey. The survey studies the fan engagement across online platforms, like Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, YouTube and Wikipedia.
Recently, a new trailer for Furious 7 was released on February 1 at the Super Bowl, featuring a whole lot of new footage.
While there isn't as much of Paul Walker as Brian O'Connor to be seen, there is a whole bunch of new bits featuring Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, and Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto.
Director James Wan will be helming the franchise for the very first time with the seventh in the series.
Despite Walker's sudden death, and the impediments it spurred, the team has pulled itself together quite beautifully -- while still reeling from the tragedy -- and helped complete the film. Until recently there was little certainty on how Walker's character be bid adieu on the movie, and actors like Brewster, who plays Mia, Connor's lover in the film, had suggested that it will be "bittersweet."
But new reports revealed that the character will be given a happy send-off as opposed to what most believed, that he would be killed off in a car crash. Walker's younger brothers Cody and Caleb Walker stepped in to help complete Connor's character arc. Cody has also signed on to play a new character in the Fast and Furious 8.
If Brian will indeed receive a smooth exit and not one in a car crash as was being suspected, it seems like Caleb, the older of the two brothers will be playing Walker's part. Perhaps, Caleb will help conclude Brian's arc in the movie, while Cody plays the part of his brother.
The movie has mostly been shot in Abu Dhabi and Los Angeles.
Furious 7 will hit theaters in April 3, 2015.
