The FBI's assistant director's medical problems will be compounded by a series of dark and trying decisions.

"We feel like we have a great story coming up where his health issues will make him face his own mortality and question his value," executive producer John Eisendrath told Entertainment Weekly. "He will be tested in ways that he's never been tested before and tempted to do things that are darker than he has ever done before when balanced against his health."

Eisendrath didn't tip his hand regarding what exactly Cooper (Harry Lennix) will turn to the dark side for, but it seems like the suit will be looking for a way to remedy a seemingly dire illness.
