Constantine aired its freshman finale Friday night, but the cast is confidant that a second season is in their futures.

NBC only gave the Hellblazer adaptation a 13-episode order after it came off the blocks with low ratings, and rumors of an impending cancelation have had fans on edge. Actor Matt Ryan (Constantine) is here to assure you that nothing is set in stone.

"I am very, very, very hopeful," Ryan told HitFix in regards to a season 2 pickup. "Obviously he's such an amazing character and I feel like we've got so far to go with it. I think there's so much potential with the series, with the source material, with the character and it's something that I would really love to continue exploring. Yeah, I'm very, very hopeful. Obviously it's out of my hands. It's in the hands of the Gods, as they say, but I'm very hopeful, very, very hopeful."

If Constantine does return, there is a chance it will jump from NBC to Syfy where it will be rebranded as Hellblazer.
