Agents of SHIELD won't quickly let Trip's death fade into the background.
Agent Triplett (BJ Britt) met his end destroying the Obelisk during the midseason finale, and the ABC series will take the aftereffects of his unfortunate end in "Epidemic."
Skye's (Chloe Bennet) new powers will always be tainted by the unfortunate loss of a friend, and as Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team attempts to move on, Trip's mom will enter the storyline. Played by Donzaleigh Abernathy, Mrs. Triplett will make an appearance in the midseason premiere.

Despite this, Trip may still show up in a flashback.
"That would be great. You might want to talk to the writers and producers about that right now," Britt told Entertainment Weekly. "If you could call them, that would be amazing. You never know, like they say, 'When you die in the Marvel universe, are you really dead?' Who knows. Right now, Trip is as dead as he could be."
