'Girls' Season 2: Lena Dunham Tweets New Teaser For January 2013 Premiere [VIDEO]
After a critically-acclaimed first season that pushed its way into the pop culture zeitgeist, HBO's trendy comedy "Girls" is back for more.
The show's second season is set to premiere in January 2013, and creator and star Lena Dunham took to her Twitter account Monday to share with fans a short teaser video for the series' return.
"We're coming back, this time with a slo-mo thuggish attitude," Dunham wrote as she posted the link.
The video doesn't offer much insight into any plot details of the second season. The teaser is mostly made up of a short, slow-motion clips of cast members and locations related to the show.
But some early reports have given fans a little information to whet their appetite. Photographers spotted Dunham in Brooklyn this summer shooting scenes with "Community" actor Donald Glover, who also raps under the moniker Childish Gambino.
Some fans and critics speculated Glover's casting could be a response to complaints that "Girls" lacked diversity and only told the story of white characters, a chief criticism of the show's first season.
Also on tap this season is a new roommate for Dunham's character Hannah Horvath. Her gay ex-boyfriend, Elijah - played by "The New Normal" star Andrew Rannells - will move into the room vacated by Marnie after an explosive fight between she and Hannah.
Rannells told New York Magazine's Vulture blog that Elijah will give Hannah's apartment a "gay makeover."
"I sort of Domino the apartment. Have you seen that magazine? I go and do a Domino sweep to that apartment - to death. Unfortunately, this does not translate to her wardrobe," he said.
