"My name is Scarlett and I am five years old," wrote the young student. "My school is called St. Bedes. In my nativity I played you. I got a new red dress just like yours…I can't wait for you to be queen. I think you are lovely."
Scarlett wasn't sure if Kate would even read the letter and was completely surprised and delighted when she received a response from Kate via Claudia Spens, the head of general correspondence for the royal family.
"She [Kate] was interested to learn that you played the part of her in your school play…" read the letter, "[and] hopes you had a most enjoyable time."
"I was amazed," declared Scarlett. "I didn't really think she would have time to reply to all those letters, but I was really happy and glad when I saw the letter and photograph she'd attached."
Kate has been busy visiting schools over the last few weeks as part of her campaign for struggling children. She is expected to give birth to her second child in April.
