Doug Jones has been cast as Deathbolt for the upcoming episodes of season 3 of Arrow, according to a new report.

TVLine reported that the actor, who is known for his work on Falling Skies and Teen Wolf, will be playing the villainous part of Jake Simmons aka Deathbolt, who is known for wileding lightening as a weapon, in this chapter of Arrow. The report also revealed that the villain will make his first appearance in episode 9 of this season.

Speaking about episode 14 to TVLine, executive producer Marc Guggenheim stated that it would be a "love letter" to the show. But he also added that it would stand as something of an ode for fans of the series, rewinding to season one of the series, it wouldn't be any lesser for new audiences. The episode will also feature many "fun moments" which were only made possible by having past the 50 episode mark for the CW show.

"Episode 14 is a bit of a "love letter" to the show. It stands on its own feet, for people who are new to the show, but if you've been watching since Season 1, it's got a tonof Easter eggs and little inside jokes," he said. "There's a lot of really fun moments that are the kind of things you can only do if you've done over 50 episodes - you get to go back and explore your roots a little bit, so you'll want to watch this episode carefully. My hope is that if people watch the show now but haven't seen Season 1, they'll want to go back and Netflix it afterwards."

The latest episode of the show, Canaries, was released on February 11.
