On Tuesday, Entertainment Weekly shared what the seasoned actor had to say about Avery Markham's storyline especially in regard to Katherine.

When Elliott's character was first introduced in the episode called Cash Game, he's with Katherine, which shed some light on their complicated past.

Elliott doesn't believe Avery should fear Katherine.

"I remember when I went and talked to the writers initially, before we started, and I went and had a day in the writers rooms with all of them, and the way I looked at it from what I had read and heard of what was to come, I felt that Markham's flaw was his love of a beautiful woman, and particularly Katherine," he shared.

"You know, love is blind, so they say. There's a lot of us out here that have gotten into a lot of s--- because of a beautiful woman over the years, and I just think that's what happened with Markham. He came back and was suspect of her, thinking that she was the snitch, and she of him. So there's an interesting level of tension, and it follows; you don't really find out until the later episodes who was doing what to whom," he further explained.

There's a lack of trust between other coupled characters too; mainly the triangle Ava Crowder (Joelle Carter) has with Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) and Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant).

"The lucky ones are the ones who have relationships with people they trust," Elliott shared, which is clearly not the case for these characters.

Justified is airing now on FX at 10 p.m. ET on Tuesdays.
