Rick (Jacob Young) was nervous to learn his father, Eric (John McCook) was coming home from his trip early, but he had no need to worry about his CEO position potentially being on the line after all on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Steffy Tries Seducing Liam

Despite Rick's questionable leadership over the past few months-which has seen him ridiculing and abusing employees and family members including Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer), Aly (Ashlyn Pearce) and Wyatt (Darin Brooks), and shooting at his former wife Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) and brother Ridge (Thorsten Kaye)-all while publicly carrying on with his girlfriend Maya (Karla Mosley) and putting her portrait up in the Forrester Mansion, Eric seems to have no intentions of trying to forcibly remove him from the CEO position, because the sales figures have all been up.

Naturally, the news that he is going to continue standing behind Rick will shock everyone else in the company to their core.

Steffy Considers Her Own Takeover Of Forrester

"Your brother has my full support," Eric tells Ridge in a preview clip for the Friday Feb. 20 episode. "And my old job as well."

The news will floor Ridge, who thought for sure that Eric's return would mean Rick was finally going to experience defeat and be taken down a few pegs. Ridge and Caroline were in fact both so sure that Rick and Maya would be dethroned from their new positions that they had even previously gloated that the day of reckoning had come-though Maya seemed pretty confident still that she would be allowed to continue holding power.

"You should have seen this day coming," Caroline says to Maya in the clip.

"And how bright does your future look? With a man whose neckties are older than you?" Maya retorts.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
