Oscars 2015: 'Whiplash''s JK Simmons Wins Best Actor In Supporting Role
JK Simmons picked up the Oscar for best supporting actor for his role as Terence Fletcher in Whiplash.
The actor portrayed the relentless disciplinarian looking for perfect time as an accomplished instructor leading a jazz band. Miles Teller played Andrew Neiman, Fletcher's tormented protege at Shaffer Conservatory in the movie. Whiplash is also contending in the categories of Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing and Best Sound Mixing at the Oscars this year.
The ceremony is being hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.
Simmons has also wn the Golden Globe and BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor this year.
The actor is set to appear in Terminator: Genisys, which will release in July, and is currently filming for The Accountant.
