Anyone looking for immediate shockers isn't likely to find them in the second season of HBO's True Detective.
Rachel McAdams Hits The Beach For HBO's 'True Detective'
Production for the crime drama's latest installment began last fall and while the latest leaked images don't say much about the show's storyline specifically, it does speak volumes about the cast.
On Tuesday the Daily Mail shared images of Rachel McAdams (Detective Ani Bezzerides) filming on a beach and Feb. 17 Colin Farrell (Detective Ray Velcoro) was spotted around Los Angeles sporting his signature True Detective mustache.

So what do these photos say? Do they even reveal anything at all?
The photographs, though vague and out of context, prove one simple fact: these characters are probably still alive.
Four months into production, Ray, Ani, and others are still alive. This suggests that the series won't be working towards any early, shocking deaths designed to jar the audience. In a day and age when characters die on television all the time, this is no small feat.
Written by creator Nic Pizzolatto, the show's upcoming season will follow the murder of a corrupt city manager in California.
The series is set to star McAdams, Farrell, Vince Vaughn (career criminal Frank Semyon), and Taylor Kitsch (Officer Paul Woodrugh). Fast and Furious alum Justin Lin directed the premiere, with three or four other directors rumored to have stepped in to helm the remaining episodes.
True Detective will return on HBO for a second season mid-2015.
