Rachel McAdams Hits The Beach For 'True Detective'
Bridges is just the sort of actor the series thrives with. Capable of both comedy and drama, Bridges has can combine just the right blend of soulful reflection and repressed suffering to make for a compelling character on the complicated series.
The fact that he is a big fan of the show could also lead him over to HBO, as it did with Taylor Kitsch this season. Kitsch was an avid fan of True Detective during season 1 and subsequently went out of his way to land an audition for season 2.
So will Bridges be the next starring detective? Is he even interested in joining the cast? Only time will tell.
For now, creator Nic Pizzolatto is focused on the program's upcoming second season. Following the murder of a corrupt city manager in California, the installment stars Kitsch (Officer Paul Woodrugh), Vince Vaughn (career criminal Frank Semyon), Rachel McAdams (Detective Ani Bezzerides), and Colin Farrell (Detective Ray Velcoro). The premiere will be helmed by Fast and Furious alum Justin Lin, though the other directors have yet to be confirmed by the network.
True Detective will return on HBO for a second season mid-2015.
