In a recent interview The Good Wife's creators, Robert and Michelle King dished about the upcoming episode, titled Dark Money.

Kalinda To Be Killed Off Like Will In Season 6?

Speaking to TVLine the duo suggested that the episode, which marks the return of season 6 after a brief hiatus on March 1, will address certain notions that liberal Democrats have about themselves. Guest star Ed Asner will be playing Guy Redmayne, a key campaign donor, and he will be quite the womanising bastard. Alicia (Julianna Margulies) will have to compromise on her values to be able to get him to secretly contribute to her PAC fund.

Earlier this year, ETOnline reported that Asner will be joining the show to play the part of Guy Redmayne, "a mega-donor to Democractic causes," who will be revealed as being "disgusting."

Finn Polmar To "Flip," Surprise Fans In Season 6

Robert suggested that Alicia's having to even appease a character like Redmayne, is a comment on the illusory righteousness of liberal Democrats.

"We'd always thought it was funny, the song and dances candidates have to go through to get the very, very deep-pocketed money men on their side, both in the Democratic and Republican fields," he said. "There is this thing called dark money, which is the name of the episode, where money is given in secret to a candidate's PAC, and candidates go through a lot to get it. What we also liked was a character challenging [the idea] that a lot of liberals Democrats feel they've solved racism and homophobia on their side, and it's the other side that's wrong. We wanted Ed Asner's character to be a little more old world, to burst the bubble of a lot of Democrat instincts about their own worthiness and purity. We have him back for one more episode after this week."

Dark Money will air on March 1.
