Tom To Experience A 'Myriad Of Emotions' On 'Call The Midwife'
On Thursday, What's On TV posted an interview with actress Una Stubbs who will play Gert Mills in an upcoming episode. People are going to want to help Gert and her bedridden husband, which is going to make things twice as hard.
"It's very sad, she's looking after her husband, but she's not in a fit state herself and she won't let on," Stubbs said. "She has always coped and suddenly she can't, but she won't give in. Even though she is frail, she is so stoic and doesn't want to be a bother and I'm a bit like that myself."

The actress also dished on how her character and her husband have a legit romance that makes them ignore the outside world.
"It's a real romance and that's what makes it so poignant," Stubbs said. "They are one of those couples that love each other so much they neglect people around them. But he is her priority, even before herself, and that is quite typical of that era."
The 77-year-old then explained why she's a fan of Call the Midwife.
"It's quality," she said. "Although it can be sad, it is gentle, but sympathetic with the times."
Call the Midwife Season 4 is expected to air in the United Sates this March on PBS.
