It looks as though Bethenny Frankel has a lot to say when it comes to both the on and off screen drama of the Real Housewives of New York. The reality television star, who quit the show back in 2010 but is coming back for the new season, says there's a huge difference between "needing" to do the show and "wanting" to do it.

According to Reality Tea on Friday, Frankel spoke out about the upcoming season while also throwing some shade at what she calls "attention-seeking" housewives who seem to be always looking for drama.

She said, "The first season was interesting because it was new, but I didn't really love it thereafter and even doing my own show was so much pressure. I don't need to do the show, I want to do it. I'm going the show because I miss the connection with women."

She added, "I want the show to be good and successful, but the only way for that to be the case is if I'm real and honest and to be who I am. Hopefully I can bring the humor angle again. Andy Cohen once told me I was the Greek chorus. Believe me, there is no shortage of content."

What's more, Frankel threw some shade at former Housewife Aviva Drescher. She said that her throwing her prosthetic leg across a restaurant last season in part of the show being too "sensational and contrived."

She said, "For me personally, I think I have enough going on in my life that I don't need to do something ridiculous or outlandish just to make it interesting," she continued. "People feel like they don't know what else to do or say so they just want to do something outlandish."

While Frankel is back as a full-time housewife, there's also been a rumor that she might get her own nigh-time talk show on Bravo as well.

The new season of the Real Housewives of New York returns this spring.
