'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie: The Latest Details On Casting & Locations
Although "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James is currently on a book tour for the sexy read, she had reportedly visited Seattle, where most of the storyline takes place. Although she was mostly doing autograph signings, many suspect James may have also done some location scouting for the film adaptation of the erotica.
According to KPTV, she has mainly been traveling around the Northwest Pacific, which is in the vicinity where the popular novel takes place.
James recently made an appearance on the "Katie Couric Show" and spoke about the rigorous pre-production process of "Fifty Shades."
"Ummm. It's sort of a collaborative effort, but there's, you know, a studio, a production company, there's two producers, and at some point there's going to be a director. So I'm sure everybody will have input into that."
The author also revealed to Couric that she already had some potential suitors in mind for the Christian Grey character, but unfortunately would not come clean on who they are.
"I have I think three people who could fit, I think, could play Christian and about four who could play Ana. And I'm not going to tell you any of them."
Despite all of the serious work James has put into the "Fifty Shades" franchise, she has still managed to keep her sense of humor.
On Sept. 14, a fan had tweeted the author on whether or not she would be scouting The Heathman Hotel elevator, which is the site of a steamy scene between Ana and Christian in her book.
"Sure am... just hoping I can find the right person to share it with me..." James said.
The sexually explicit "Fifty Shades of Grey" premise revolves around a recent college graduate Anastasia Steele, who gets herself caught up in a dominant and submissive sexual relationship with billionaire Christian Grey, through an "agreement," as they both explore the world of bondage and masochism.
Up until this point, E.L. James and her producers Michael de Luca and Dana Brunetti have remained tight-lipped on both the casting process and location scouting for the film. Only time will tell if the producers will end up staying true to the book and lock down similar locations for the big screen version.
