On Wednesday Fisher, who plays in the NHL for the Nashville Predators, released a statement on Twitter thanking followers for their support and saying that fatherhood has been the absolute "best" thing to ever happen to him.
Thanks for all the prayers and wishes over the past week! Having a child is the best thing in the world!

Fisher's country star wife discreetly gave birth to their son on Feb. 27, though the pair did not announce the good news until Tuesday. Underwood first confirmed that they were expecting a child together on Twitter back in September, and so it's no surprise that the Little Toy Guns singer turned to the social media site to announce their son's birth as well.

The couple has only released the one photo so far and are likely enjoying the privacy as they spend time together at their Nashville home. For weeks they struggled to come up with a name for their little guy, though it looks like they finally settled on something they could both get behind.
