The chairman-CEO of Warner Bros. recently spoke on how the DC brand is more realistic in their approach than Marvel as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters soon.

There has been buzz about "superhero fatigue" in the film industry and among the viewing public recently, which culminated in the Oscars awarding Best Picture to Birdman, a film that satirizes our superhero-obsessed culture.

With DC's Cinematic Universe just beginning, Warner Bros. boss Kevin Tsujihara recently talked at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference about their strategy.

"The key thing is that the movies and the television shows and the games, everything looks very different ...you have to be able to take advantage of the diversity of these characters," Tsujihara explained, according to Variety.

While DC and Marvel have been compared even before the onslaught of superhero movies and cinematic universes, Tsujihara stressed that DC is more based in reality than Marvel.

"The worlds of DC are very different," he noted. "They're steeped in realism, and they're a little bit edgier than Marvel's movies."

The heads are Warner Bros. and DC are hopeful that the popularity of superhero movies will continue. Their plan really begins with Batman v Superman, which is set to be released in early 2016.

"The big franchises are becoming more and more valuable," Tsujihara said. "You don't have to explain to the consumer what a Batman v Superman is."

It remains to be seen if Batman v Superman will take off beyond expectations or if superhero fatigue really will set in in the years to come.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on March 25, 2016.
