Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Charming (Josh Dallas) will find it difficult to come clean about their secret to Emma (Jennifer Morrison) in the next episode of ABC's Once Upon a Time.

'Once Upon a Time's Cruella de Vil Able To Control Maleficent & Ursula?

During the midseason premiere a huge secret was teased involving Snow, Charming, Cruella de Vil (Victoria Smurfit), Ursula (Merrin Dungey) and the Enchanted Forest. Snow and Charming will struggle to tell their daughter Emma the truth in Sunday night's episode.

Once Upon a Time co-creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz spoke on this matter with Entertainment Weekly this week, noting that this may actually bring her closer to Regina (Lana Parrilla).

Will Hook Continue To Protect Emma's Heart on 'Once Upon a Time?'

"[Emma's] done a lot of growing over the three and a half seasons, so what happens when you find out that the person that was helping you grow might actually be as bad as the people you were trying to get away from?" Kitsis said.

"Given what Emma is starting to go through and what Regina has gone through, there's a new common ground between the two characters that will help build on that friendship," Horowitz added. "In addition to Henry [Jared Gilmore], they now have something else they can share and deal with."

Kitsis' comments suggest that Snow and Charming may not be as good as their reputation claims to be. Does the couple have a secret dark or villainous past?

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
