'Iron Man 4' Spoilers: What We Know So Far About The Movie [VIDEO]
As there is a whole lot of speculation surrounding the pre-production of Iron Man 4, Enstars rounds up all that is known about the movie so far.
Robert Downey Jr. is most likely not coming back for the fourth instalment, and he pretty clearly stated that in a recent interview. Downey Jr., suggested having to drop Iron Man 4 for his upcoming movie Captain America 3: Civil War.
Speaking to Empire magazine, the actor talked about how Civil War might not have come to be, had he gone ahead with Iron Man 4.
"They said to me, 'If we have you, we can do this, or Cap 3 has to be something else.' It's nice to feel needed. And at this point it's about helping each other, too," he said. "I look at it as a competition and I go, 'Wow, maybe if these two franchises teamed up and I can take even a lesser position, with people I like and directors I respect, maybe we can keep things bumping along.'"
In fact, recent reports are setting off the rumor that a young child might be the main star in Iron Man 4.
Air Herald believes that the child who assists Stark in the third movie, Harley Keener, might take over the mantle of the Iron Man.
Although this seems unlikely, as the actor is most likely reprising his role in the movie and seems to be leaning toward making it work out. During an appearance on the Ellen Show, last year, he strongly hinted at the fact that he would be coming back.
"I know there's going to be a bunch more Marvel movies," he said.
"And they have big ideas of how to do it best and we're in the middle of negotiation..." Ellen asked him, "So, yes?"
To which Downey responded in the affirmative: "Okay, yes!"
In another interaction during a Reddit AMA, the actor revealed that we would have more information about the movie in the near future.
"Sooner than later the Marvel Roster will be made public and all questions will be answered."
But it has been a while and we are still waiting for the big public announcement.
A new report speculated if Jeff Bridges will be coming back for Iron Man 4.
Speaking to io9, the actor suggested that the Iron Monger, the character he played in the movie might still be alive.
"The Iron Monger falls into this big pit of whatever it is, some kind of acid or something, in his costume," he said. "They pull it up in the big crane and they open up his costume and he's gone."
Bridges went on to leave the answer to the prospect of his returning open-ended, adding that it was a possibility:
"And when we were shooting that film they said, 'No we're not going to do that. We're just going to have you go.' And I said, 'Oh shit, I was kind of disappointed.' Because I was thinking [I would] be in the sequels. But they said it's a comic book, maybe the Iron Monger will come back. I said 'Yeah, right.'"
