The We Can't Stop singer has been working on new music since before 2015 began, having previously posted a couple of photos of herself with a keyboard and a notepad filled with lyrics during Thanksgiving 2014.
Now, she has actually teased a snippet of a song!

Sunday, Cyrus posted a short video on Instagram of her in a recording studio booth singing into a mic, "Why do people only show forgiveness when they want to sound cool in a song?"
It appears as though the 22-year-old was joined in the studio with some friends since she tagged Cheyne Thomas, Katy Weaver, Wayne Coyne and Vijat Mohindra in the caption of the short video.
Cyrus did not seem to know she was being recorded while singing the lyrics since at the end of the video she makes eye contact with the camera and appears to come off a little shy and startled as she says what sounds like, "Oh, hey."
The singer has stayed mum on discussing the teased snippet so far so fans have been left to speculate who and what she is singing about. Plus, the snippet is much more along the lines of a ballad than most of her previous material.
Coyne also shared a video the day prior of Cyrus recording.
The song sounds like it has a psychedelic vibe.
