The program's new installment on Netflix has been a blessing for cast, crew and fans. In 2014 A&E decided to drop the series despite the fact that it was the network's highest-rated scripted drama at the time. For months the program sat before an uncertain future. Support poured in from viewers via social media, highlighting the show's remarkable fan base.

In November, Netflix stepped in to revive the series and soon thereafter the writers returned to work. Production is set to begin by the end of the month.

Longmire will likely return for a fourth season on Netflix during the later half of 2015.
